William Dowse the Elder of Urchfont

Dowse In the name of God Amen. I William DOWSE the elder of Urchfont sick in body but whole in mind and of good and perfect memory thanks be today for the same, do make this my Last Will and Testament in manner forme following that is to say first and principally I give and bequeath my soul unto my God and my body to be buried in the parish church Of Urchfont. In turn I give unto thee Cathedrall church of Sarum, 12 shillings and to thee Parish Church of Urchfont 12 shillings and to thee pore of the parish of Urchfont 10 shillings. In turn I give and bequeath unto William Dowse the sonne of my sonne William one brass pot, one maulting stove, two bee staules and one Bason, and 40 shillings in money all of it to be paid unto him at the death of my wife I in turn give and bequeath unto my grandchild John Dowse our mault mill one greate brasse pot one Bason, and one bee staule and 40 shillings in money all of it to be paid unto him at the death of my wife. I in turn I give unto William Giddings my godsonne 2 shillings and to William Brinsen 2 shillings, and to Idyth Ford 2 shillings, and to William Lidiat all the rest of my house moveable and immoveable, I give and bequeath unto Maud Dowse my wife and to William Dowse my son whom I make my executors unto this my last will and testament and I make John Ford and Edward Barnes overseers, hereunto to see that it be performed accordinge to my mind hearin expressed and do give unto them for their pains about it two shillings a pound In turn I give unto Edward Barnes one bushell of wheate, In turn I give unto my Servaint Jane Richards and to the mayor in the parish of Urchfont two shillings in Witnes whereof I the said William Dowse to this my last will and testament put out my hand and seale the 27th day of June in the year of our lord God 1615.
